Building on the foundation established by the California Student Wellness Index, we developed the Comprehensive Assessment of Resilience and Emotional Strengths (CARES). This 27-item universal wellness screener combines the CSWI with the Social Emotional Health Survey and the School Connectedness Scale, creating an efficient tool specifically designed to support the positive development of students. Validation and normative data are based on responses from a second sample of over 500,000 California students in grades 6 through 12. This tool serves as a valuable resource to enhance your school's data-informed efforts in promoting students' well-being.
